Vietnam's Pickleball Scene Is Booming
Vietnam has become one of Southeast Asia's fastest-growing pickleball destinations — and the numbers prove it. With over 50 dedicated venues and well over 150 courts spread across the country, the sport has exploded from a niche expat pastime into a nationwide phenomenon embraced by Vietnamese players and international visitors alike.
Da Nang alone now counts 15+ venues with more than 70 courts. Ho Chi Minh City has a thriving urban scene with dedicated centers and luxury hotel courts. Hai Phong boasts 5 venues with 26 courts. Resort properties from Phu Quoc to Hoi An have added professional-grade facilities. And the PPA Tour Asia chose Hanoi for its MB Hanoi Cup in April 2026, cementing Vietnam's place on the global pickleball map.
The D-Joy Tour 2026, a 10-tournament professional series running January through December across Vietnam, further signals that this is no longer a trend — it's a movement.

Da Nang — Vietnam's Pickleball Capital
Da Nang has emerged as the undisputed pickleball capital of Vietnam, with over 15 venues and more than 70 courts — more than any other city in the country.
Furama Pickleball Club leads the pack with 14 courts (indoor and outdoor) at the five-star Furama Resort on Truong Sa Street. Tuyen Son Sports Complex offers 8 modern courts with permanent lines and nets. FPT Pickleball & Coffee Club and Danang Smooth Pickleball Centre (across 2 locations) each feature 8 courts.
Fit Fun Pickleball (7 courts on Duy Tan Street), G4 Pickleball (6 courts in Son Tra), and Dao Xanh Pickleball (4 courts in a quiet villa setting) cater to different vibes. Pikaball Pickleball at the Grand Tourane Hotel has 4 outdoor courts with LED lighting for night play. Additional venues include CN Pickleball, Da Nang Unity Pickleball, NANA Pickleball, PinPon Badminton Pickleball Sport, Han River Pickleball, Mitsuba Pickleball, Picklehead My Khe Beach, and VQ Fitness & Pickleball Club.
Most courts are open from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The best times to play are early morning or after 4:00 PM to avoid the midday heat. Da Nang's beach-to-mountain geography means you can play a morning session, then surf at My Khe Beach or explore Ba Na Hills in the afternoon.

Ho Chi Minh City — The Urban Pickleball Hub
Ho Chi Minh City has the most diverse pickleball scene in southern Vietnam, with venues ranging from members-only training centers to casual pay-and-play courts.
PickoLand Thao Dien is the gold standard — 5 permanent courts in Thu Duc City (formerly District 2) with a members-only model that attracts serious players and offers structured training programs. Rudal Pickleball Center in District 7 has 6 courts with a pay-per-session model, ideal for drop-in play and social games.
Court One Club at the New World Saigon Hotel provides 3 professionally maintained courts with hotel-grade amenities. Indoor options like San Cau Long Tran Nao are perfect for the monsoon season. Pickleball 102 offers 2 dedicated courts with covered roofing and modern lighting. San Pickleball 130 Che Lan Vien in Tan Phu district is popular among local players. The D-Joy Nam Sai Gon court complex in District 7 hosts international-standard tournaments.
The city also hosted the Pickleball Doanh Nhan Sai Gon tournament in March 2026 at NHHK Pickleball Club in Binh Hung, reflecting the sport's crossover into the business community.

Hoi An & Central Coast — World-Class Resort Courts
Central Vietnam offers the most scenic pickleball experience in the country, combining world-class courts with beachfront settings.
Hoiana Resort & Golf in Hoi An is the standout — 8 courts split between indoor and outdoor play, a professional coach (Nguyen Duc Duy, Asia Open bronze medalist coaching Thursday through Saturday mornings), and complimentary access for resort guests. External players can book courts for around 250,000 VND per hour, with equipment rental at 450,000 VND/hour. The resort also hosted the Pickleball Getaways tour in February 2026.
Four Seasons The Nam Hai in Hoi An has courts surrounded by green space with professional coaching classes. Vinpearl Resort & Golf Nam Hoi An features outdoor courts alongside tennis and golf facilities, open 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort offers courts at its entertainment complex and can even arrange playing partners for solo visitors — a thoughtful touch for traveling players.
Dong Nai — Vietnam's First Private Pickleball Retreat
Dong Nai Province — just 1.5 hours from Ho Chi Minh City — is where Vietnam's first dedicated pickleball retreat was born, and that's exactly what makes Sportkation so special.
Sportkation sits on a 6,000 m² private estate featuring 2 professional pickleball courts, private cabins, an outdoor sauna, BBQ pavilion, swimming pool, and lush gardens. It's not just a place to play — it's a full weekend escape.
What sets Sportkation apart is the retreat experience. After your matches, you're walking 30 seconds to a countryside cabin, then cooling off in the pool or warming up in the sauna before a BBQ dinner under the stars — not heading back to a hotel room in a busy city.
The Dong Nai location puts you in one of Vietnam's most naturally diverse regions. Between sessions, explore Cat Tien National Park, cycle through fruit orchards, or taste local specialties at countryside eateries.

Northern Vietnam — Hanoi, Hai Phong & Beyond
Northern Vietnam's pickleball scene is surging, led by the PPA Tour Asia selecting Hanoi for the MB Hanoi Cup (April 1–5, 2026) at the My Dinh Athletics Complex — a $300,000 prize pool event drawing around 680 players.
Hanoi has 6+ registered pickleball locations, including Green Tay Ho Pickleball, a training hub for top-level players. The city's player community is growing fast, with 2 organized networks and nearly 100 registered players.
Hai Phong, 2 hours east, has become a genuine pickleball hub with 5 major venues and 26 courts: Bao Bi Xi Mang HP (6 courts, indoor/outdoor, from 150,000 VND/hour), AV Sport Quan Nam (4 indoor courts with spectator stands and competition-standard surfaces), Ibiza Central (6 covered outdoor courts with anti-glare lighting opposite AEON Mall), Tran Khanh Du (4 outdoor courts, community-focused), and Vinh Niem (6 indoor courts with international-standard anti-slip surfaces).
Flamingo Dai Lai Resort in Vinh Phuc province features 6 outdoor courts with retractable roofs, combining scenic lake views with quality play. Sportkation is planning a Highland retreat near Hanoi for late 2026, bringing the private retreat model to the north.
Resort & Island Courts — Phu Quoc, Vinh Phuc & More
Vietnam's resort scene has embraced pickleball. At least 7 major resorts now offer dedicated courts, making it easy to combine a beach holiday with court time.
Novotel Phu Quoc Resort on Truong Beach provides courts designed for all skill levels, free for resort guests. Pullman Phu Quoc offers a modern outdoor court with 1 free hour daily for guests (7:00 AM to 9:00 PM), plus complimentary equipment.
Wyndham Garden Sonasea Van Don Hotel in Quang Ninh (near Ha Long Bay) has an outdoor court with supplied equipment and beverages. Flamingo Dai Lai Resort in Vinh Phuc has 6 courts with retractable roofs, open from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
These resort courts typically range from free for guests to around 250,000 VND per hour for outside visitors, with equipment rental available at most locations.

Planning Your Pickleball Trip to Vietnam
The best time to visit depends on your region. For Ho Chi Minh City and the south, November through April offers dry weather and comfortable temperatures. Central Vietnam peaks from February to April, while the north is best from September to November.
Budget-wise, Vietnam is one of the most affordable pickleball destinations in Asia. Court fees range from free (at resort properties for guests) to around 250,000 VND (roughly $10 USD) per hour at premium venues. Equipment rental runs 100,000–450,000 VND depending on the facility. Accommodation near courts runs from $30/night for guesthouses to $150+ for resort stays.
For the ultimate experience, combine multiple stops: start with the urban courts of Saigon, head to Sportkation in the Mekong Delta for a weekend retreat, then fly to Da Nang for the country's largest concentration of courts, or island-hop to Phu Quoc for resort play. Vietnam's domestic flights are affordable and frequent, making multi-city pickleball trips entirely practical.
With the D-Joy Tour running 10 professional tournaments across Vietnam throughout 2026 and the PPA Tour Asia bringing international competition, there's never been a better time to plan a pickleball trip to Vietnam.
